Second Saturday w/ STITCHING!

In our second Saturday Meeting, we focused on Scholarships and Mending!! We started our day with the usual mindfulness routine: meditation and morning pages. We then reflected on the work we did in October, sharing things we’re excited about in the future, stuff we’ve done, and the overall experience that past month. We then got into scholarships with Ms. Cassie! She helped us learn tactics to find scholarships and what to say when we apply. She even gave us a very resourceful spreadsheet with various links to scholarships we could apply to. After that, the last thing we did that day was learn about textile mending from a local artist named Niko. They taught us the basics and cool tips on mending holes and adding patches! We spent the rest of our day exploring different techniques with hand-sewing, but before we left we all answered the question of what we loved most about fall and almost all the answers had to do with the good food or switching styles of clothes. And with that, I hope you all enjoy the fall season!
